Cookie policy

Last updated: 22 August 2026

This page lists the cookies the site actually uses, one by one, with their purpose and their real duration.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser to remember something between one page and the next — the language you chose, for instance. Some are set by the site you are visiting (first-party), others by external services embedded in its pages (third-party).

Technical cookies — no consent required

These keep the site working or remember a preference of yours. They do not profile you and, under Article 122 of the Italian Privacy Code, they need no consent. Both are first-party:

  • NEXT_LOCALE — stores the language you are reading the site in, so the next pages stay in it. It is a session cookie: it has no expiry set, and your browser deletes it when you close it.
  • al-fogher-consenso-cookie — stores the choice you make on the banner (accepted or declined), so we do not ask again on every page. Duration: 6 months.

Third-party cookies: the Google map — consent required

The Contact section contains a map provided by Google Maps. Embedding it means loading resources from Google’s servers, which can then write its own cookies in your browser and collect data about your visit. That is why we ask you first.

Until you agree, the map is not loaded: in its place you get a panel with a button. And it is not the map hidden with a CSS trick — the element that would load it is simply not in the page, so no request goes to Google and no cookie is written.

If you accept, the map appears and Google may set its cookies. Which ones, and for how long, is decided by Google and not by us: it describes them on its own pages, linked below.

The “Get directions” link, on the other hand, is an ordinary link: it loads nothing until you click it.

What this site does NOT do

Worth saying plainly, because it is unusual:

  • No statistics or analytics tool, from any provider.
  • No profiling or advertising cookies.
  • No social buttons loading external resources: the links to our profiles are ordinary links.
  • No typefaces loaded from external servers: the fonts are hosted on this site.
  • No newsletter, no payment system, no form that sends data to a server.

How to change your mind

You can change your choice whenever you like, using the panel below or “Cookie preferences” at the bottom of every page.

If you decline after having accepted, the map stops being loaded straight away. Cookies Google has already written stay in your browser until you delete them yourself: how to do that is explained below.

Managing cookies from your browser

Every browser lets you view, block and delete cookies from its settings, usually under “Cookies” or “Privacy and security”. Careful: blocking all cookies can stop parts of the site from working properly, including the part that remembers your choice.
